Women's March

On January 21st 2017...

Montrealers gathered at the Place des Arts Saturday morning in support of the Women’s March in Washington D.C., where an estimated 500,000 people gathered at the National Mall to show U.S. President Donald Trump they won’t be silent over the next four years. Montreal’s rally was one of 600 sister marches planned around the world. I too, was there! The message was loud and clear. We will not go back backwards! We will support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities.

We marched with lady forces all around the World so that we can tell our children on how fiercely women like us fight for our rights, for their rights and make history. We marched for our gay bestfriends so that they can marry their partners and live peacefully. We marched for women's bodies, for the right to keep our womenly reproductive choices. We marched for my fellow lady bosses who work so hard for better positions and equal pay at work. We marched for women who were harassed and sexually groped and too afraid to come out and tell their stories. We marched for women who are still depending on men to make them happy, to have a "happy future", because we make our own happiness, no one else! We do that! This is no longer the times of the damsel in distress! No price charming on sights, we save our own asses! I hope this movement will inspire our Worldwide nations to be in control of your life and future, to give you a voice that truly matters!
